Cor Remie: New President-Elect ICCS
At the last Annual General Meeting of the International Council for Canadian Studies in Ottawa (May 27-28, 2006) Cornelius Remie was elected to the position of president-elect of the ICCS. The ICCS is the umbrella organization of many national Canadian Studies organizations worldwide and is responsible for many programs promoting Canadian Studies. Cor Remie will be on the board of the Executive Committee for four years: one year as president-elect, two years as president and one year as past president.

International ICCS Summer Seminars 2006
This summer ICCS will host two summer seminars, one week in Ottawa, one in Halifax at Dalhousie University. ACSN members, students and staff, who are eligible may send a request to ACSN who is willing to pay for travel expenses. Please check the ICCS website. 27/06/2006
Governor-General's International Award For Canadian Studies 2006
This year the award went to Christl Verduyn, who has almost finished her sabbatical in the Netherlands. She has given presentations on Canadian Studies in Amsterdam, Leiden, Groningen, Middelburg, Nijmegen en Zierikzee. She has made a significant contribution to Canadian literary scholarship at universities and into the broader community in native, English and French, and multicultural Canadian studies. The award was presented to Christl in Ottawa on May 28, 2006. 27/06/2006
